Errors found on AM5728 Reference Design Schematic

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728

I wanted to bring some errors to the attention of a TI employee.  I believe I found some errors on the AM5728 Reference Design Schematic (am572x_gp_evm_REV_A3) specifically on Page 24 Zones 4A, 4B and 5B.  I am looking at the PDF version so If it is correct in the .dsn, please let me know.

In Zone 24-4B, Pin 6 of U27 has a net name of VTT_VOSNS while the pin name is REFOUT.  Additionally, in Zone 24-4A, Pin 5 of U27 has a net name of VTT_REFOUT while the pin name is VOSNS.  I believe the two net names should be swapped, but as it looks like the nets go no further than Page 24, It is not critical.

In Zone 24-5B, I noticed the net name DDR_VREF_OFFn and the number 19 were on top of each other.

  • Thanks for noticing these. They are more like typos, rather than errors. They will be corrected in the next revision.

  • I agree it appears the PCB designer swapped the net names on these two nets. However, the nets are connected to the correct components.

I verified the net names are also swapped in the PCB design files which means they were swapped in the net list used to define component connectivity. I do not plan to correct the schematic at this time since it may cause confusion if someone were comparing net names between the schematic and PCB design files. I will add a note to the schematic explaining this issue if we find a more significant reason to update the schematic.

This may be fixed in the future revisions of the PCB.

    Regards,
    Paul
