About thumb2 suppport in kernel configuration for am335x

Hi Sir

as we know , AM335x(ARM Cortex-8) supports Thumb-2 instruction.

After checking the kernel configuration in sdk, we found the CONFIG_THUMB2_KERNEL is not set.

Q1:

why doesn't the default setting of kernel enable CONFIG_THUMB2_KERNEL ?

Q2:

any concern or side-effect if we enable CONFIG_THUMB2_KERNEL in kernel ?

Not that I know of.

Most likely, this has not been implemented, simple because there wasn't any need of it.

Personally I haven't tested my sitara boards with CONFIG_THUMB2_KERNEL, but as I said I haven't heard of a limitation or side effect that specifically required to unset CONFIG_THUMB2_KERNEL. So it should be ok to give it a try.
