OMAP3530 LPDDR Compatibility

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hello,

Is Samsung's K4X1G163PQ/PE/PC compatible with OMAP3530?  We want to use two of these to get a 32-bit data bus.

Or is there a more economical way to get 256MB 32-bit DDR memory?  The price of Micron's parts on Digikey seems quite high.

Thanks in advance. :-)

  • My question is related. I also need to use around 512MB memory. Is there anythings cheaper than what Digikey shows for Micron ?

also all these terms - SDRAM, Mobile SDRAM, LPDDR indicates same thing ?

    thanks

No, they're all different.  Here's a quick summary:

SDRAM: 3.3V, 1 word transferred per clock

    DDR: 2.5V, 2 words/clock (i.e. both edges)

mDDR = LPDDR: 1.8V, 2 words/clock (similar but different standard than DDR and DDR2)

    DDR2: 1.8V, 2 words/clock

    DDR3: 1.5V, 2 words/clock
