omap-l138 2Gb DDR2

Hi,

I'm currently running my custom board with 1Gb DDR2 type MT47H64M16. Micron has pin compatible 2Gb device which I would like to test.

Are there any experiences, known limitations or any known issues resisting this memory-double-operation? Address A13 is wired from L138 toDDR pin and is not operational in current setup.

Please make sure that you have configured the new DDR with correct timing settings.

Change the gel file for your new DDR part and try to access the memory through CCS "Memory window"

Thank you Titus,

I do not expect any HW -related problems as 1G and 2G devices have to be electrically equal, just one address more. 1G device was "plug and play" with defaults; well matched traces but no terminations - so the PCB seems to be OK.

What is the 2Gb device you are using ? Is it from the same family from Micron ?

Are the timing parameters same for both 1Gb and 2Gb device ? If it is different, you have work on the SDRAM timing registers to configure the 2Gb device correctly.
