Hi,

Is it possible to load Linux kernel on ARM and Sys BIOS( TI RTOS) on DSP simultaneously in EVMK2H (Keystone II)?

If Yes,

1- Can both be laoded from NAND devices at bootup?

2- How ARM and DSP will communicate?

3- Can ARM dispatch a job to DSP in this scenario

4- Can Linux RT be used instead of linux on ARM?

Dear Rao,
Yes, you can run the Linux on ARM core and SYS/BIOS on DSP core.
2. It will communicate through IPC remote proc linux driver.
4. Yes we do have Linux-RT support for ARM core.
3. Yes.
1. Yes, I think so, through mpmcl utility.

Additionally,

1. The DSP boot images can reside on NAND filesystem.
3. The DSP cores can be reset, loaded and executed through MPM.

I have one more question. if we want to share a memory region between ARM and DSP. How can that be achieved?
Also what can be the maximum size of that memory region?

Hi Rao,

For K2H, to demonstrate the IPC communication ARM and DSP using shared memory, ex44_compute example is available as a part of ipc_3_42_00_02

I would recommend you to have a look at the source code of ex44_compute example to know about how it is achieved and the size of the shared memory region used e.t.c.,

in this particular example, is ARM running Linux. I need IPC example or manual for scenario in which ARM is running linux and DSP is running SYSBIOS.
