Testing SMP Application on TCIE6630K2L Boards

Hello TI,

we are trying to test SMP functionality of TI-RTOS on K2L EVM boards.

we are trying to run example SMPExample1_CortexA.zip from Below link.

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../BIOS

we see that both the cores are stuck at some point, looks like each core is waiting for other cores signal or intimation.

please see the below snapshot to know the current status of cores.

could you help us overcome this problem??

Hi Manjunath,

It looks like the A15 cores are in secure mode from the screenshot (see "SEC on" tag in the lower right corner). We only support running in non-secure mode.

You can put the A15 cores in non-secure mode using a gel file. I have attached a K2L gel file that I have been using on my setup. You can checkout the enterNonSecureMode() gel function in this file. This function needs to be run on both cores to put them in non-secure mode.

After integrating the enterNonSecureMode() gel function, please ensure that CCS shows a "SEC off" tag for both A15 core 0 & 1 before running the application.
