Hello !

I want to drive usb camera ( here is the camera's link ) and refer to this paper ( processors.wiki.ti.com/.../OMAP-L138_LCDK_Linux_Software_Developer's_Guide ) to build new linux kernel with USB camera support.However,when i copy the uImage under the folder /arch/arm/boot to SD card and boot it,the result is

Does it normal ? If not ,what is going wrong and how can i know whether the camera is drived successfully ?

Hi Sai,

This is not normal behaviour. Your CLI output is missing after kernel booting. I suggest you to check the 'console' setting of bootargs. You should stop the booting in u-boot prompt and print environment variables using 'printenv' command. Then attach the output.

Hi Tsvetolin Shulev,
Can you give a detailed step on how to check the ' console ' setting of bootargs ? And in u-boot prompt,no matter which key i hit,it does't work.

Sai,

During the board booting you must press any key when the "Hit any key to stop autoboot: " message appearing. Then you can see on the console u-boot prompt and type:
# printenv
Somewhere in the output you can see something like:
console=ttyO0,115200n8
Please attach the whole output or "console=......" only.

Hi, I tried it .The result is that no matter which key I hit when message apperring , I failed to stop it.And just now,I tried again,this time,the console shows nothing and the chip omapl38 is a bit of hot.

My descriptions are based on the first screenshot when the output ending with "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.".
If you nothing seeing on the console terminal (Tera Term) and ensure that the board working properly you should check weather using the right serial device settings.

Hi USER,

If the teraterm settings are right, definitely you should be able to stop at the "Hit any key to stop auto boot.

Check out your settings of teraterm.

Compare the settings of Teratem with the screenshots given below:

Hello,The problem is solved.The TMDSLCDK138 is broken.AND now I have a new problem and i have posed it for one day.I will be very happy if you can solve this problem. ( e2e.ti.com/.../514097 )
