Hello !

I'm going to drive usb camera on TMDSLCDK138.Here is the camera's link (www.ptgreychina.com/firefly-mv-03mp-color-usb-20-micron-mt9v022 ).

So i builded new linux kernal with usb camera support refer to this paper ( http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP-L138_LCDK_Linux_Software_Developer%27s_Guide#Steps_to_export_an_NFS_mount ) .

After copying uImage under folder /linux-3.1.10/arch/arm/boot to SD card and booting , I get a result like this.

Does it normal ? If not ,which step goes wrong ?Besides,how can I know whether the camera is drivered successfully ?

Now,there is a new problem.When boot omapl138,the console shows nothing,besides the temperature of omapl138 is a bit of high.

If nothing comes out in teraterm, please set boot mode to UART and open the teraterm and check whether you are getting "BOOTME" text when you press RESET button.

HI Sai,

Are you able to boot the kernel successfully? From your screenshot, it shows that the kernel doesnot boot. It hangs!!!. Am I right?

First try to boot the pre-built Kernel image which comes along with the MCSDK 1.1 and then attampt for your own build.

And also check whether the Linux USB 2.0 device driver is available for your camera, ( -micron-mt9v022 ) device.

While doing make menuconfig before building the kernel, check for the list of USB device drivers available for cameras.IF in case available, you may have to choose something like below:

When required to support UVC, UAC class (Webcam, Speakers, Microphone etc.) choose the following

Device Drivers --->
	Multimedia support --->
		Video capture adapters --->
			V4L USB devices --->
				<*> USB Video Class (UVC)
				[*] UVC input events device support

Hi Shankari,
Thanks for your answer,I have solved this problem .
But now there is a new problem.I see nothing on the console terminal (Tera Term) and I'm sure that serial device settings is right.

Able to get BOOTME message on console with UART boot mode ?
This will make sure that your board is in good condition.

I hope so.
You should get BOOTME message if you set UART boot mode.
Please make sure that you set correct settings for UART boot.

What you have done to the board ?
Any wiring you did externally or anything ??

I just builded a linux kernal and copy a new uImage into sd card. It worked fine for a while.But I don't know which step went wrong ,it suddently did not work normally and the chip on TMDSLCDK138 is abnormal heat.

Sorry, it seems the board is gone or some of the ICs (PMIC) might have gone due to high voltage.
How about the D3 & D2 LED status on board ?
We never heard or seen this problem in LCDK boards, I hope you might have shorted the power rails or supplied high voltage or some thing like that.
If possible, work with HW team to investigate the board.
