How to detect video resolution from vip port?

Hi,

I am now using the DVRRDK4.0 in TMS320DM8168 . Now I want to get capture video resolution from vip port, not the front end chip,such as Gv7601,Sii9233.

which register can I read to get the frame width,height and framerate? I can't find the specific register in HDVPSS_dm816x_NDA.pdf.

Could you help me and tell me if my plan would be feasible? and which register?

Hi Jason,

You could get the frame size information from the capture driver, call get_advanced statistics ioctl to get the capture frame statistics and from this stats, you could get the frame size information.
The other way is, you could get the captured frame size from the VIP register, 0x48105530.

Thanks for your replay, and then how can I get the framerate? which register to read and then how to calculate?

the only way to get the frame rate is by counting number of frames captured in a second. so you count the number of callbacks and timer it takes to capture.
I think you could even get the fps as part of frame statistics, just check.
