Could not find remoteproc0 trace log

Hi ,

I am working in K2HK evm board and also we have developed own customize board with 66AK2H processor board.

I am trying to load dsp elf through arm using mpmcl utility,

I am able to load the image in dsp and able to execute it. But i could'nt able to see any log of it in directory,

/sys/kernel/debug/remoteproc/remoteproc0/trace0

and i could'nt find remoteproc0 directory in /sys/kernel/debug/remoteproc/ path.

Am i missing any thing,

Please help to sort out this issue,

Do you see this behavior with TI provided example(mpmsrv_keystone2_example)? I have attached pre-built binary of the example.

Thanks for your input,

I have tried with the default pre built binaries which is in mcsdk folder and also with your binary but still i could not get debug prints.

As per the link ,

Command "cat /sys/kernel/debug/remoteproc/remoteproc0/trace0" show the print message,

But i could not find remoteproc0 directory in remoteproc folder at all. 

Should i need to create remoteproc0 directory in /sys/kernel/debug/remoteproc/ path or it will created by any script.

I think this feature is broken in Processor SDK release. If you have time, please check this works on latest MCSDK(3.1.4) release binaries (Linux and file system image).

HI,

I have been working in this sdk for quite long time and reverting whole our changes to newer MCSDK(3.1.4 ) is difficult and also takes more time.

I had discussion with TItus on topic "where to get Ramdisk filesystem source for ti K2HK" and she referred this SDK (tisdk-server-rootfs-image-k2hk-evm.tar.gz)

and now you are referring to newer release.

Please add support to this SDK and confirm its working at your end.

So i can use it.

You no need to create remoteproc folder, it will create.

Have you mounted the debugfs filesystem ??

For me "remoteproc0" is created in NFS mode.
How did you boot the board ?
NFS or UBIFS ??
In processor SDK, remoteproc drivers used as module driver, so you need to do build as module & modules_install for the NFS filesystem.

I am porting filesystem in NFS only, I am using SDK (k2hk-evm-sdk-bin-02.00.01) and filesystem tisdk-server-rootfs-image-k2hk-evm.tar.gz.

Are you using same filesystem ?

In linux-4.1.13,i have selected "Keystone Remoteproc support " as modules and did module_install to filesystem path.

Do i need to selected STE-Modem remoteproc support too ?. I dint select this option.

I could not see remoteproc0 and others listing under remoteproc directory.

I have suspect in mpm version in the tisdk filesystem

Is mpmcl working at your end ??

I followed the below sequence, and found dsp0 to be in error state and reset is getting failed,

You have to use the following commands to build the kernel.

After that I have tried to mount NFS on K2HK board and able to find the remoteproc directory.

You don't need to change any manual config changes for this.

Once module is loaded,i tried to do mpmcl to load binaries to slave dsp's

check the status of dsp0,

root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl status dsp0
dsp0 is in idle state

check the ping status

root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl ping dsp0
ping succeeded

then load mpmsrv_keystone2_example.out, first i get error msg and second time if i load , it is loading successfully,

root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl load dsp0 mpmsrv_keystone2_example.out
load failed (error: -104)
root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl load dsp0 mpmsrv_keystone2_example.out
load succeeded

root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl run dsp0
run succeeded

Because of first time error, dsp0 goes to error state, even if i give reset command its still in error state and reset command is also not successful,

root@k2hk-evm:/# mpmcl reset dsp0
reset error

I guess because of this error state i am not able to see any trace logs in remoteproc directory,
