Problem about hdvpss csc convert coeff

Hi all:

I use dvrrdk 4.1, and i want to set my dvo2 output from level 0~255,not 16~235,

in my application only csc used to convert yuv-->rgb888,

and in hd encoder rgb888-->yuv,

and i use VPS_CSC_MODE_HDTV_GRAPHICS_Y2R instead of VPS_CSC_MODE_HDTV_VIDEO_Y2R,

VPS_CSC_MODE_HDTV_GRAPHICS_R2Y instead of VPS_CSC_MODE_HDTV_VIDEO_R2Y

so i think output range will be 0~255,

actually, it is not what i think,

what is the problem?

i also rewrite convert coeff by myself, it can not output 0~235,

can someone tell me how to configure?

Hi Margarita:

Does not LIMITED YUV DATA(Y:16~235 U,V:16~240) means that after rgb to yuv convert yuv output clip pixel value from 0~255 into 16~235?

What do you mean check with both nodes vcompmux:dvo2, hdcompmux:dvo2?

how to do this by tied HDMI-HDCOMP, or HDCOMP-DVO2?

Xavier,

When you set the CSC to output limited range, the coefficients values will be such that it will output only in the range 16-235..

Which input path that you are using? Is your input to the vpss graphics or video?
On Video path, there are two CSC, you will have to set full range output for both the CSC.

I use video path BP1 CSC-HD, no cproc used, no graphics used

you say two CSC, in display what is the other i will refer except CSC-HD,

i read the sprugx8_dm816x_vpss.pdf,

i think the convert matrix in follow picture rgb to yuv can not output luma 0~255, i think is 16~235

is this a mistake ? or input range 0~255,output 16~235?

Hi,

There is one before blender to convert YUV to RGB and there is one in the VENC to convert back to YUV from RGB output of blender.

if you are using 816x, cproc is used to convert YUV to RGB, otherwise CSC is used to convert YUV to RGB before blender.
