BiSS solution fails to detect I/O

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP0022, SYSBIOS, SN65HVS882, AM4379

Hi Biser;

    Still at it. Once I cleared the PRU hang, I was able to start to debug the firmware. Here's what I did. Followed the directions in the Master Dev Manual to get the BiSS firmware loaded using the supplied GEL scripts. The Firmware ran to a halt. I discovered that it was not detecting the 1.8VDC high that the encoder was putting out and assuming that the thing wasn't connected. Not good. But I proceeded to bypass the halt by commenting it out. Still wouldn't run but stopped later. Discovered that the section that hunts for the ACK only tries once and quits. OK, so I put the ACK block check  in a permanent loop to see if I could get the output to clock. Nothing. So I went back to check the wiring and traced back to the 473x, not signal with the scope. So I'm stumped again. PRU is running with firmware that looks like it should put out at least a steady clock, but I don't see any signals at all. Any clues?

  • Hi David;

        Had to take a few days vaca to clear my head.

        Yeah, well, I looked at these 'explanations' already in the header. As in true Microsoft style, they re-iterate the macro names and don't explain much.

    Anyway, I have an open channel and can work with it.

    Thanks,

    Aaron
