Is there a register that I can distinguish between c6746 and c6742?

Hi Champs,

I'm planning to write unified software for both of C6746 and C6742.
So, could you please let me know whether there is a register that I can distinguish between c6746 and c6742?

Hi j-breeze

No register or software readable way to distinguish the 2 devices. Case markings is the only way to distinguish.

Thank you for your prompt reply and I'd like to ask you for some advice.

C674x has some peripheral REVID registers. For example, C6746 has EMAC REVID one and the address/value is 0x01E22000/0x4EC80100. On the other hand, C6742 don't have it.
So, If I read the same address of C6742 and get a value other than 0x4EC80100, it seems to be able to distinguish between the two devices.

Any comment would be appreciated.

Unfortunately that is not the way to distinguish the 2 devices. Case marking is the only way

There is no way in software to distinguish the 2 devices.
