JPEG Encoder on DM814x EVM

Hi,

We need advice on implementing JPEG Encoder on DM814x EVM.

We would like to know which is the good option(below) in terms of
available software and Performance.

1. Using HDVICP hardware
2. Using C674x DSP Core
3. Using Cortex-A8+NEON core

Requirement: JPEG->1280*1024, YUV420/YUV420,8bit
Note: HDVICP is also used for H.264(MCFW) encoding.

We believe HDVICP hardware or the C674x DSP would be a good option,
please let us if there are any suggestions about software availability and ease of development.

Hello,

In the default EZSDK there is not jpeg encoder running on HDVICP/DSP. In EZSDK could be used gstreamer jpegenc running on A8.
For EZSDK you could check this thread:

Regarding DVRRDK you could check these threads:

For IPNC and DVRRDK you could search for more threads in the e2e connected with your question.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I shall go through the links you have mentioned.

With respect to the Performace, can I assume using HDVICP hardware
has the higher performace when compared to other two?
And the recommended options is HDVICP?

HDVICP hardware > C674x DSP > Cortex-A8
