Video capture using gst-omx component in DM8168

Int he default ezsdk we does not have omx__camera element.
Could you check the video before the encoder element? Are you observe the same?

Hi Margarita,

As I had issue with the capture of video with v4l2 using gst-launch command, I switched to gst-omx component omx_camera.

Hi,

The issue in the link mentioned looks like similar. But it is not the same.

omx_camera element dont use the tvp5150, vpss driver for capture.

Its purely application. there are 2 options can be changed and checked.

Those 2 options are output format and option to select progressive /interlaced.

If I choose only YUV420 semi-planar format and interlaced, the video comes like as shown in above figure.
If other format and progressive is used video will be yellowish .

As I said in the default ezsdk there is no omx_camera element.
What tvp is support by this element?
Is it tvp7002? If yes could you try with OMX capture_encode demo?

What about if you are using 422 and interlaced?
You also could check the omx_mdeiscaler element.

Hi Geetha,

RidgeRun solves this problem in the past for another customer. The problem is that omx_camera captures a field per buffer. This means that it will capture the top field in one buffer and the bottom field in the next buffer. By default, the omx_h264enc expects a buffer with both fields (top/bottom). We modified the firmware to change the way that the h264 encoder expects the buffer, so it will wait a field per buffer. We already have these binaries.

Also, you have to set the scan-type property in omx_camera to interlaced and add it to the caps:

gst-launch omx_camera num-buffers=1000 scan-type=interlaced ! "video/x-raw-yuv, format=(fourcc)NV12, width=720, height=480, framerate=30/1, buffer-count-requested=10, interlaced=true" ! omx_h264enc ! gstperf ! avimux ! filesink location=sample.avi
