Cant able to load image through mpmcl

Hi,

I am trying to load mpmsrv_keystone2_example.out to slave dsp's using mpmcl.

This image comes in default MCSDK package.

When i  try to load  the image using mpmcl command , i get error msg in /var/log/syslog

Please let me know about this error message,

  • Please make sure that you are using pre-built images from latest processor SDK.
    Can you please do the same in K2H board if you doing in custom board ?
    We were able to load and run some of the IPC examples through mpmcl using latest PSDK package.
  • I am able to run this image in K2HK evm.But not in our custom board.

    In this linker.cmd of this project, ddr is mapped to address  ,0x80000000.

    MEMORY
    {
        L2SRAM (RWX) : org = 0x800000, len = 0x100000
        MSMCSRAM (RWX) : org = 0xc000000, len = 0x600000

    }

    But as per the

    Could this difference be cause for error ??

    What is your DDR memory size in your custom board ?

    we use 1GB DDR memory in our custom board.

    I have rebuild the project and ported the same. But still i get error when i load the image through mpmcl.

    I guess this error is due to DDR memory configuration in mpmsrv_keystone2_exampl.cfg.

    As i posted in previous, DDR memory is to be configured to 0XA0000000 as per your link. 

    But this project has DDR memory configured to 0x80000000.

    May this be the reason ?

    Please guide.

     

  • Try to use the memory range 256MiB from offset 0x80000000.
    You may have to modify the platform file of that project to do the same.
  • Can you tell me the procedure to modify the platform file of that project. ?

    Can you please tell me which platform do i need to select in RTSC for 66AK2HK processor.

    When i select ti.platforms.evm6614 ,DDR is configured to 0xa00000000 - 256MB which i could see through Linker.cmd but when i select ti.platforms.evmTCI6636K2H ,DDR is configured to 0x800000000.

  • You no need to change anything, just import the mpmsrv project and rebuild it.
    Actually we need to use "ti.platforms.evmTCI6638K2K" or "ti.platforms.evmTCI6638K2H"

    I'm able to load and run the .out on MCSDK and PSDK based Linux.
    What changes you have been made in K2H custom board ?
    By the way, the example is using completely L2SRAM so it should run.

    Sounds like you are not able load and run any .out via mpmcl on custom board??

  • I tried building the project with "ti.platforms.evmTCI6638K2K" as you suggested and still error is same. And i m using CCSv5 and importing the project from mcsdk_bios_3_00_03_15

    Even in this" ti.platforms.evmTCI6638K2K"  platform,  DDR is configured to DDR3 at 0x80000000 in linker.cmd

    Why i am stressing this in all my post is, i am loading linux at address 0x82000000 and dtb at 87000000. And booting through nfs.

    I have an suspect ion whether this error is due to DDR clash. Please confirm,


    More over in our custom board, we are not able to achieve correct clock speed for 66AK2HK14 processor (core 1200/Arm 1400) . We are able to achieve core speed at 491Mhz and ARM at 500 MHz. Will this also be an reason. Please clarify,

  • As I said, that project was using the Local L2 SRAM for running.
    It just had entry DDR3 but not used.
    You can also confirm by checking the .map file.
  • Even if its using L2SRAM i should be able to load and run to dsp0.

    But i am not able to and setting dsp0 to error state

  • I dint get any inputs for this query.

    Loading to dsp from Arm is the major one for us to prove our processor.

    If mpmcl utility is not working, what are the other ways to load the dsp binaries from arm and execute ?

    And also please suggest why mpmcl utility is failing while loading the binaries
