AM335x Processor SDK RTOS peripheral driver support

Hello,

I was looking into what drivers were available for the BBB in case we decided to use the Processor-SDK-RTOS(which supersedes starterware as I was told).

The following table lists support for platforms and EVMs:

This is referring to the BBB.

1. What do boxes with "no shade" and "no x" mean?

2. On the AM335x , it looks like the TCP/IP stack is implemented on the PRUs. However, there is no support for the BBB? The NDK page shows no support for the BBB on the AM335x.

At the current state of the SDK, can I use the Ethernet hardware for TCP/IP?

3. We may likely use USB. However the box shows no indication of support.

Most of the info above is by looking over alot of webpages on the wiki... so I may be mis-informed in certain cases.

Hi Gerard

The gray box means that there is no support for the peripheral interface on the board.

The white empty box means that the peripheral interface is supported on the board but is not supported in the SDK.

If you look at the PSDK RTOS AM335x PDK, there is a NIMU example that would help with the networking side of things.

Please note that some of the older versions of Starterware had LWIP which was a third party TCP/IP stack. This is no longer supported in TI's releases, but perusing the old releases would perhaps assist you in putting your application together.

I believe USB examples for BBB are being worked on and would be included in a future release. There is a GPEVM example located at: pdk_am335x_1_0_2\packages\MyExampleProjects\usb_dev_msc_evmAM335x_arm_project.

Thanks. I'll look into the Ethernet part.

I've installed the p-sdk and have located a few examples for the AM335x. However, these are under starterware(below). Can I assume that this starterware contains the latest examples that the P-SDK supports.

To get the TI-RTOS examples it is necessary to take an additional step once you download the processors sdk.

This is outlined on the wiki page "Rebuilding the PDK" at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Rebuilding_The_PDK

Once you have completed that step (which can take a while) you will see:
