Hi,

We are using AM5728 processor. Our use case involves the TI h264 encoder and decoder running on IVAHD. We wanted to understand how much of the following below resources are used by the SYS-BIOS in the h264 encode and decode use cases.

1. General purpose timers
2. EDMA and sDMA channels
3. OCMC RAM

Is there any document that gives this information? If not, can you provide this information to us?

Just to add: it doesn't use any of the resources you were concerned about. IVA-HD has it's own dma names VPDMA and internal memory.

Thank you for providing the information. Yes I am asking about the resources used my M4.

According to our understanding, SYS BIOS will require at least one timer to operate. Which timer does the SYS BIOS use?

Apoorva,

For AM57xx devices, this is the way the timers are shared in Linux and TI RTOS :

A15 : GPTimer 2 & 10
DSP : GPTimer 5 & 6
IPU(Dual-M4) : GPTimer 3,4,9 & 11
