DM365 / DM368 Linux kernel for real time 30fps @ 2MP specially DM365 DM368 codec part

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP7002

Hi,

Is there a linux version 0.18-01 that can not achieve the real time 30fps @ 2MP specially DM365 DM368 codec part?

Where can we get the 0.18-03 linux kernel that fixed this problem ?

Thanks

  • I assume you wanted to say "Is there a linux version 0.18-01 that can not achieve" . Actually, what is the input to DM36x video port? I assume it would be through the sensor. In that case you have to write your own sensor driver and build it in the kernel (LSP 2.10.xx or LSP3.10.xx). There is no limitation from the rest of the VPFE drivers that limit it to smaller resolution. TVP7002 that we support on EVM has support upto 720P and hence our TVP7002 driver supported that.

But in IPNC Reference Design and other platforms too, we have used an external sensor capable of giving 1080P30 and integrated to our LSP kernel driver.

  • Thanks,

Could  you share what  the 0.18-01 stand for ?

    Thanks

  • Zack,

I dont know what you meant by 0.18-01. This was mentioned in your original post. Where did you get this number? I thought you meant DVSDK 2.10.01.18 and i replied based on that.

  • Thanks, I also hear from our colleague.

  • Hi,

There is a small correction in my earlier reply. TVP7002 can support 1080P50 and 1080p60 also. On Dm365EVM we support 720P60 and 1080i60 inputs. 1080P60 is not possible on DM365 due to the limitation of input pixel clock and hence the TVP7002 driver on DM365 does not support that.

But any other sensor that can provide 1080P30 can easily be connected to DM365 and can use LSP drivers for VPFE.
