USB host mode not working in DM385 CBB?

Hi Guys,

i'm working on customized DM385 CBB with kernel version 2.6.37, i have enable support in kernel menuconfig for Host mode. i have followed

"processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Usbgeneralpage" made necessary changes to add support for musb Host mass storage mode.

I need one info what should be the pin needed to enable USB HOST mode.

Hi Ganesh,

The USBx_ID pin configuration define whether the USBx will operate in host mode or in device/gadget/peripheral mode. When USBx_ID pin is grounded, we have host mode. See the below wiki pages for more info (DM385 is DM813x/TI813x):

The DM385 pins are:
USB0_ID (A20) for USB0
USB1_ID (A24) for USB1

Hi Pavel Botev, thanks for your reply. One clarification - In kernel menuconfig if we enable software ID(I did these) part then also it is necessary for us to ground USB0_ID.

Software control of the USB ID pin is possible only for DM816x and DM814x PG1.x devices.

For DM385 you should ground USB ID pin (onboard jumper setting) or you can configure through usb plug type inserted to usb connector (micro/mini-A plug for host mode).
