AM335x USB Hub connections

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352

Dear Sir,

We have another version for AM3352 application board. We want to use an USB HUB to expand USB interface from two to three.

There are some questions for connections:

AM335x schematic checklist described that

Typical connections for a USB host with USB hub:

  • USBx_DP and USBx_DM are connected directly to the USB hub upstream port. The hub then distributes these signals to the downstream ports as needed.
  • USBx_CE is typically not used and can be left unconnected
  • USDx_ID should be grounded to enable host mode.
  • USBx_DRVVBUS should be connected to the enable of the 5V VBUS power source.
  • USBx_VBUS should be connected to the output of the 5V VBUS power source. It is also connected to the VBUS detect on the hub, which then allows the hub to selectively enable/disable typically through a power switch to each downstream port.

In our system, we use MIC2026-1YM as external power USB port supply, USB212BQFN36 as USB HUB that supplies two downstream USB port power enable signals (PRTPWR1, PRTPWR2)

So we hope to know how to connect USBx_DRVVBUS and USBx_VBUS to this HUB.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide

Jim
