HI,

Am working in TLV320AIC3x Audio codec on DM8168 board.

Linux kernel version: 2.6.37

ti-ezsdk_dm816x-evm_5_05_02_00

aic3x_i2c_probe() has been invoked and sound codec has also been registered using snd_soc_register_codec(). But the probe of the sound codec driver - aic3x_probe() hasn't been invoked even when the codec is mounted correctly.

Please help us in resolving this issue?

Are you using EVM or it is custom board?

Thanks for your valuable response.

I found the sound subsytem probed. But it crashes due to the address bit and data bit parameters of snd_soc_codec_set_cache_io(). Is this 16,16 or 8,8 ?

Kindly suggest me what are the appropriate values must be given?

Hi Benuvel,

TLV320AIC3106 audio codec has 8-bit registers (D7 - D0), thus 8,8 should be used.

snd_soc_codec_set_cache_io(codec, 8, 8, aic3x->control_type);
