Hi experts,

My setup:

Board: EVMK2H Rev 40.

SoC : TCI6638K2K

MCSDK: 3_01_04_07

Help me, Please!

1. Why does that hex6x turn .out file into .bttl need to use .rmd? Is because of ELF format used? Needn't the COFF format?

I remember TI older methods are not need .rmd file ?!

2. According below article,Hex6x support ELF format , but my

hex6x seem to not support ?

3. What is Rmd file? How should I write it?

What differences are between .cmd and.rmd ?

Brian,

Are you trying to create boot image for ARM or DSP?
The hex6x is used for DSP image. The .rmd file is used to pass arguments to hex6x utility.

Please refer bootloader FAQ wiki for information about the utility. Thank you.

Raja,
I am trying to create boot image for DSP.
I can't find bootloader FAQ in TI wiki, I just find little information below article.

Could you give me the hex6x tool and guide for ELF , please.

You can either call hex6x utility with options mentioned or as command(.rmd) file(list).

Hex6x utility in C6000 Compiler: The hex conversion utility converts an object file (.out) into the boot table format required by the DSP boot loader. This utility is documented Chapter 11 of the C6000 Assembly Tools user guide included as part of the C6000 compiler.

Hi, raja

When I use hex6x to convert ELF out to boot table , below message was shown .

ERROR: illegal input character: 0x7F

"Hello_ELF.out", line 1: FATAL ERROR: cannot open input file 'ELF.out': No suchfile or directory (aborting)

How I should solve it ?

Brian,

Please provide your hello_ELF.out file and also the .rmd file that you are using inorder to convert the file to a boot table.

The software for K2H devices currently supports only ARM boot master. Can you please specify why you require the DSP to boot prior to the ARM?

Rahul,

I am using the below files in order to generate a boot table. Please help me to solve error.

The important cause is that the rest share memory are not enough to implement Arm+Linux Boot, we require the DSP boot.
