Optical sensor in C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit TMS320C5515

I am able to use the swipe sensor in this kit ... no problem. But I cannot get the optical sensor to work. Is it supported. I cannot find in the documentation specific directions for hooking it up. I've gotten a little frustrated, because none of the documentation for this details how to use it. The only way I was able to get the swipe sensor to work was to find a video that shows a gentlemen using it.

Let me explain precisely how I have the cable hooked up. With the core board facing downward(i.e. the DSP facing the table) the blue stripe on the cable is facing up). On the optical sensor the blue stripe is facing away from the PCB on the rear of the sensor. I have tried every single permutation of cable arrangements with this device.

MY QUESTION: How exactly ... EXACTLY ... do I make the optical sensor work on this board?

  • Kerry,
I haven't used the kit yet, but I understand that there is a separate program for each sensor shipped with the kit.  Have you tried reprogramming the DSP for the different sensor?

Perhaps someone who has some experience with the kit can verify this.

    Regards.
