I2C transfer error 121 (Remote I/O error)

Hi all,

My processor is keystone - II (66AK2E02) and kernel version is 3.10.61.

My I2C chip connected on bus-0. From ioctl i am doing read/write and my ioctl function fail and give error no 121 which is remote i/p o/p error.

But my chip address is correct and i2c bus number also correct.

can anyone know what problem it is???

Dear Vijay,

I hope that your i2c code is not written well.

To confirm, try to read/write the i2cget/i2cset/i2cdump/i2cdetect (i2c-tools package)
Have you installed the "i2cdetect" command to K2H board ?
If not, please do that, then do the below command.

For bus 0 (/dev/i2c-0)
i2cdetect -y 0

For bus 1(/dev/i2c-1)
i2cdetect -y 1

You need to cross compile the i2c tools package.
