AM35x Software Q&A

Had a few software questions for AM35x devices ...

  • Linux with drivers for ALL peripherals ?  If not all, which one(s) are missing?
  • Complete BSP for Linux ?
  • Support for creating native libraries to support Java ?
  • Cross compilation and debugging support ?
  • JAVA JVM support (full sun java implementation a preference) ?
  • Disks support Linux journaling ?
  • Debian (or other suitable) Linux OS (preferable 2.6.x) ?
  • Generally speaking I don't recommend posting lists of questions as it is quite intimidating for people to reply.  It's also difficult for people to search.

I'll try providing inputs where I can.

This information is contained in the release notes.  For example, here's a link to 3.x releases:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/psp/LinuxPSP/OMAP_03_00/index.html

Click on the latest release and then click on its release notes.

It's not clear to me if you're talking about the development environment or the target software.  I actually have a Debian Etch server that I work with so if you were asking from the host side, yes, you can use it.  I think most people are using Ubuntu these days.
