HARD RESET for C code...

I got a 5509A, that boots from external parallell FLASH

There are several  DSP codes in the FLASH banks controlled by a FPGA. So I need to be able to issue a HARD RESET (?) to make the DSP load in the FLASH code after selecting a new bank.

I do not whant to use the FPGA to issue a physical reset, as there are other devices also connectec to reset...

I tried ASM(" RESET; ");  ut this I belive does not make the DSP reload the code into RAM.

Any Idea's

  • Terje,

The nREST pin in conjunction with the Boot-Mode Selection pins are the only way I know to get the C5509A bootloader to run.  Details are in the App Note: Using the TMS320TT0x Bootloader (http://www-s.ti.com/sc/techlit/spra375),  Section 2.  A software reset will not cause the bootloader to run.  You need the nRESET line to toggle to get the DSP to sample the BOOTM pins to tell the bootloader which mode you want to use.

    Regards.
