AM572x oscillator supply from PMIC

Hi all,

Is it fine to use the D1V8 generated by TPS6590377 PMIC (LDO2) output to power up the all clock oscillators needed for processor?

Total current consumed on the clock oscillator will be around 50mA (Max). I do see that the PMIC user guide "Figure 2. Processor Connection With TPS6590377ZWSR" shows external connection of D1V8 from LDO2 to other peripherals.

Is it recommended to filter out the 1.8V supply from PMIC being sourced to the Clock oscillators?

Hi,

TPS6590377 PMIC LDO2 defaults to 3.3V, so it's not suitable for supplying the oscillator power rails.

Hi Biser,

Please refer to Table 5. LDO OTP Settings of the PMIC user guide sliu011.pdf. OTP 0x8B corresponds to 377 PMIC part whose default voltage is set as 1.8V. Can you please answer my initial query?

Ah, I see what you mean now. Yes, this should cause no issues as long as total power consumption from LDO2 does not exceed 300mA.
