DSK 6416 with CCS V3.3

Hello,

I need to implement TI's DSPLIB in DSK6416 but I am unable to rebuild dsplib64plus.pjt in CCS V3.1 but it works fine in CCS V3.3 (with C64X simulator as target ). When I tried to choose DSK 6416 as target I did not work.

Can CCS V3.3 be used with the DSK 6416 ?

I tried importing the target dsk6416 in CCS V3.3 but I got an error saying " Error initializing Emulator I/O > Port : 540". Is there any other specific target file or DSK 6416 with CCS 3.1 good enough ?

The C6416 has a 64x core and you should get dsplib from here:

http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/sprc092.html

Based on your comments it sounds like you have the wrong one.

Can the C6416 DSK be used with the CCS V3.3 ?

Because I'm getting errors like the port and emulator cannot be initialised. Is there any way on how to find the default port ?

Yes, however, you will need to download drivers from Spectrum Digital:

http://support.spectrumdigital.com/ccs33/

After installing the drivers you should see a filter for "dsk" in cc_setup and there should be a corresponding board for 6416 DSK.

Hi Mr.Griffis,

I did try downloading the target from the link ( spectrumdigital ) last week but it did not work. I got an error saying emulator and port initialization failure.

I could not figure out the default port address that needs to be used in order to connect the DSK to the USB port.

The DSPLIB worked in CCS V3.1. The program compiled and I was able to run it on the DSK 6416. Thank you.

Can you please suggest some documentation in order to program the EMIF ( except the EMIF datasheet ). Any example codes will also be of great help.

Please post a screenshot of cc_setup.

Please clarify what exactly you are running that used to work on 3.1 that no longer works. The software you described as dsplib does not look like the same as I mentioned.
