AM335x compatibility between ZCZ package devices

I am using AM3358 device for my project. I want to know following things.

Compatibility between AM335X device fo different series. 2 to 9.

Compatibility between Am335X device to different frequency device. 500Mhz to 1000MHZ.

We are using ZCZ package. PMIC is TPS65910. whihc can be used to vary voltage for different frequency operation.

    Hi,

    If your devices (AM3352, AM3354, AM3358 & AM3359) are the same package ZCZ, then they are pin to pin compatible. Just check the device comparison table in the datasheet to see which device has the needed modules & peripherals.

    If your pcb & power network are designed well (according to the recommendations) you shouldn't have any problems switching between the processors (AM3352, AM3354, AM3358 & AM3359).

    Please also comment from moving lower frequency to higher frequency processor for same series processor. We are using TPS95910 and that can be used to increased voltage as per processor frequency.

    Hi Manoj,

    As I said, you should design your power network to meet the requirements given in the datasheet of the AM335x SoC (the processor with highes frequency, 1GHz) and there shouldn't be any problems to switch between frequencies.
