I am currently working with the TMDSEVM66788L (The processor is multicore DSP TMS320C6678L) . I have ccs v6 on my pc with mcsdk_2_01_02_05.
I read in the documentation that the cpu clock frequency on my board is 1GB/6. Now when I activated TIMER8 in order to create an interrupt to the EDMA3 I saw that the maximum frequency I can achieve is around 8.5MHZ (the period high register = 1 and period low register = 0) which is considerably slower (I used a scope in order to see the TIMER8's output via the 80-pin connector).
I would like to know why is there such a difference between the frequency's, and if there is any way to change the frequency of TIMER8?
