Image distortion after enable KTNF

Hi all:

The image will distortion after enable the noise filter, is there any way that can avoid the distortion when enable KTNF? such as KTNF only worked on (width-32)*(height-32) image, but not add extra 32 pixel?

         Any comments would be appreciate!

  • Hi Tracy,

we need more details on the image distortion. What kind of distortion are you talking about? Is this distortion in the YUV data after KTNF or after the encode operation?

Are you using IPNC Ref Design or have you integrated KTNF on your own in the system?

    Regards,

  • Hi Anshuman:

Thanks for you response so quickly!

The distortion happened after encode, I'm not sure wheather the distortion happened in YUV data, here attached two picture for you reference:

I test this on IPNC board and found the distortion too.

  • I am sorry, but i did not understand the distortion in the images. Can you please pin point?

Also, what are the two images? Is it before encode and after encode?

  • Hi Anshuman:

The two images are captureed after encode. you can save the two images to you local PC and view it, you will found the distortion just like:

  • Hi Tracy,

I imagined that the extra field of view that you are seeing is what you meant by distortion and your figure confirms that.

Noise Filter is implemented in such a way that it needs extra capture from the sensor for its operation. It needs extra pixels on each side and extra lines at top and bottom. This is the reason why you are seeing a different field of view in the case with KTNF and without KTNF. Currently we dont have any implementation without the extra image data for KTNF.

  •  Hi Tracy, Anshuman:

I found the DM36X IPNC REF design uses the demo KTNF, when open  the NF funtion,  it will be disabled after 13 mintues later, then the image will have more noise,  how can we fix this problem? my avtive email is stevenyinhai@gmail.com
