How to enable and Use OSD in DM365.

Hi,

We are using IPNC_RDK_DM36x_V5.1.0-Linux-x86 version on DM365 board.

Currently we are displaying image/video successfully in video layer using video (/dev/video2) port successfully.

Now we want to use OSD/Framebuffer and display a image that having text in it.

And also want to use transparency feature of OSD and want to display only text from image only.

We are thinking to have image that must have some fixed color background and that color will be added as transparent color list (if its like something).

So, can you guide us

-->how to enbale OSD

--> how to put OSD window at specific location on screen,

--> how to add one color that will be transparent to video layer

Please guide us for this.

Thanks for the link.

That demo application are part of DVSDK demo packages.

And we are using IPNC RDK for DM365.

If you have not enabled this via command line, you can do it in run time. IPNC USER GUIDE has more information.

Ex command line: Triple stream, H264 720P 4Mbps, MJPEG VGA Qfactor=75, H264 QVGA 512Kbps, AEWB, RTSP, FD

# ./av_server.out DM365 720P_VGA_30 H264 4000000 VBR AUTO MJPEG 75 H264 512000 VBR AUTO AEWB APPRO2A RTSP FD OSD

PFA to do it from GUI at run time.

You can check the box Text @ overlay Settings

You can select any option from drop down of Text Position under Overlay settings.

You might get some info here: e2e.ti.com/.../59141

OSD may be cropped based on the Display TV properties and where centre portion is sent to display. Please refer UG for more details on this.
