DM365: How to set USB_VBUS pin.

Hi,

I am working on a DM365 based customize board on which a USB hub chip is used. As per DM365 datasheet the USB connector power must be turned on by the DM365, when th DM365 is the host. Also the pin N2 called USB_VBUS on the DM365 is responsible to USB power enable on the USB hub. I want to verify how the pin is configured in the kernel that I am using (linux-2.6.18_pro500). I want to set this pin as HIGH. Can anyone tell me how can I do this in kernel? Is it possible through UBoot?

The USB driver automatically takes care of it. Just compile the kernel to support usb host mode.

Though I have configured USB in host mode, I am not able to get power at USB hub.

Can you please tell me which section of code takes care of this in kernel? I am using kernel 2.6.18 provided by TI with DM365-EVM.

Krunal.

Ensure that you have set the ID jumpers correctly (set them in the "L" position) and also the Host Cap jumper.

We are not using USB hub on EVM. I am trying to bringup USB hub on DM365 based customized board which does not have any jumper settings.

Pl. ensure that the USB ID line is appropriately connected. For host it should be grounded. Verify whether your EVM layout takes care of this aspect. This seems to be the issue with your setup.

In my case, as per schematic the USB ID pin is grounded. Can you please where should the USB ID pin be connected when DM365 is the host?

I am sorry. I missed part of you email. YOu have already said USB ID pin should be grounded.

I verified my schematic it is grounded.

Krunal,

ID pin should be gounded at the DM365 end also. Pl. confirm the same. Can you compile the usb driver by enabling debugging messages support. Once the kernel is loaded pl. provide the dmesg dump and the output of "cat /proc/drivers/musb_hdrc".
