L138/AM1808 Ethernet PHY

Update:  in looking at the bootloader code, it seems that GP2[6] is only set high in da850evm.c.  I haven't been able to find where it's set low, unless this is hardcoded somewhere (there is no reference to GPIO_BANK2_REG_CLR_ADDR other than in hardware.h).  Is it necessary to ever set it low? 

Is it necessary to set it low in the Linux driver?

More info:  MDC was disabled on the MII PHY to allow the RMII phy to respond.  I'm only using an RMII PHY, so I won't need to disable the MDC.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

The MII and RMII MDIO PHY addresses are both set to 0 so it would be best to disable the MDC to the MII PHY to prevent contention.

The guys in the Linux forum will have more details on how they configure RMII on the board.

There is no MII PHY on my board - just RMII.  I'm not using a SOM with an EVM - this is a custom board.

I thought the MDIO clock had to be disabled once the MDIO setup had been done, as I didn't know GPIO2[6] was being used to turn off the MII to allow the RMII to be used instead.  Most implementions will use one or the other, so the schematic (and code) was a bit confusing.
