GPIO Status in UBOOT Console AM335x

Hello,

I am running the stock Arago image and am trying to get a GPIO pin status in the UBOOT console at boot. I cannot seem to figure out how to do this from the integrated help.

I have found several Uboot crash courses- none of them are for or work with- the version bundled with Arago,

Any suggestions?

Hi Mark,

You should check weather in your u-boot is enabled 'gpio' support by the command:
=> gpio help
gpio - query and control gpio pins

Usage:
gpio <input|set|clear|toggle> <pin>
- input/set/clear/toggle the specified pin
gpio status [-a] [<bank> | <pin>] - show [all/claimed] GPIOs

If there is no support of 'gpio' command in u-boot console you need to add in your board config:
#define CONFIG_CMD_GPIO

Thank you for the feedback-

I have successfully used the gpio set / clear command. I cannot for the life of me get the gpio status command to work - I am pretty sure I am mis-interpreting the syntax...

can you provide an example or two of gpio status from the uboot console?

Thanks for the insights. Unfortunately, typing:

gpio status -a

gpio status -a GPIO1_18 (or any other GPIO pin that matter)

produces:

gpio query and control gpio pins

Usage ....

But I see that gpio toggle 53, gpio set 53, gpio clear 53 work fine.

The UBOOT SPL I am using is 2014.07-00001-g4a8e5b8.

I did recompile uboot for my own uses, but I did not explicitly turn off GPIO support.

So - still no GPIO status in Uboot.

Mark,

I test the 'gpio status -a' Uboot command and I can confirm that it does not work correctly. I'll inform and ask for decision Uboot team.
