Can DM6467 to be a PCI host?

Hi, all:

   I have 2 questions about PCI of DM6467

   1. Can DM6467 act as PCI host? 

   2. If DM6467 can not act as PCI host, how does Figure 1 of sprab28(http://focus.ti.com.cn/cn/lit/an/sprab28/sprab28.pdf) work? DM6467 read data from target by poll?

    1. Yes, as long as, there are no other PCI masters on the PCI bus.

    2. this is needed since DM6467 does not have PCI bus arbitration capability, in case of multiple masters.

    Varada,

    In order to be a HOST, the HOST must have  the ablity to generate a PCI reset.  That normally means the  PCI reset  is an output.

    On the DM6467, it is an input only.  So how does that work ??

    Not having an internal arbitrator is not relevant,  you just make an external one with a CPLD.

    So you if the DM6467 was able to reset the PCI bus, and there was a simple external arbitrator,

    it could be a HOS,  and  there could be many masters.

    I do not see how it can be a  HOST with the input only reset ??
