Hi Team –

We’ve had a couple questions pop up regarding the latest rev of AM3358. Can you please comment on:

  • Is the expected current for VDDS_RTC typically 20uA? We’re  seeing 25-26uA.

  • Any plans to reduce this on a future rev?

We are using the TPS65218 PMIC to power AM3358 in the design so we are actually supplying 1V and 1.8V supplies to RTC domain from the PMIC. There are hooks in place to gnd RTC_KALDO_ENN via 10K PD thus supplying CAP_VDD_RTC from internal LDO or by default we remove 10K PD on RTC_KALDO_ENN terminal and connect RTC_KALDO_ENN  to 1.8V supply from PMIC and connect CAP_VDD_RTC to 1.0V supply from PMIC.  

Battery life has become a concern, and previously the estimated current draw was 10 – 12uA.
