Hi,
I have the following question, my processor is OMAP but the question applies to any processor with GPMC.
we have omap3530 and pop memory from micron part # MT29C4G96MAZBACJG-5 IT which is obsolete now and after some research, we have found part # MT29C4G96MAZBBCJV-48 IT which seems to be a pip-to-pin compatible replacement part.
the only difference is in the electrical characteristics, clock cycle time which was min of 5ns and became 4.8ns (basically clock speed increased from 200MHz to 208MHz)
so my question, if current omap3530 GPMC clock is set to work with 200MHz part do I have to do any changes to the configuration registers to operate at 208, or 208 is just max limits of new part that I can just ignore and keep working at the 200MHz without any code change?
I need an answer to that question to advice the production team that we we have a replacement part or we have to stock as much as we can from old part till we try out the new one and see how it will work with new clock?
Regards,
Ahmed
