Hello Guys,

My question is not a davinci related. Maybe you can point me to the correct mailing list or you can answer my question.

1. Where I can download the "Technical Reference Manual"?

2. What utility is available to write the x-loader and u-boot on flash?.

3. Or, does the OMAP 4 need an x-loader?.

In general this forum does not really cover OMAP4, and I am not sure that there is a good place to discuss OMAP4 yet today, as if you look at the OMAP4 web page on ti.com there is a disclaimer:

This being said, I don't believe there is a publicly available TRM, nor do I know of any public utilities to write the bootloaders to an OMAP4's flash. I suspect OMAP4 has some form of X-Loader though the name and functionality may have changed.

There is some mention of OMAP4 on OMAPpedia, however I am not sure how well this site is supported, since OMAP4 in general is not widely available to the public.

I don’t believe TRM is available for OMAP4 yet. However, when it is available, you will likely find it here, under technical documents: http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wtbu/wtbudocumentcenter.tsp?templateId=6123&navigationId=12037. Note that the OMAP34xx and OMAP36xx TRM’s are currently listed.
There is a flash utility which has been released publicly which will support OMAP4 devices. I haven’t officially released support for OMAP4, but it has been tested on a limited basis. The utility is available on TI’s GForge site: https://gforge.ti.com/gf/project/flash. You can find the latest release package by clicking on “Files” in the left hand margin. You may also request to join the project, which will allow you to create your own branch of the source tree and help in development.
I don’t have the answer to this, so I’ll leave it open for someone else to answer.
