Looking for a replacement for TMS320C31PQL40

I'm new to here and couldn't find a specific forum to post on TMS DSP Series.

Looking for a replacement TMS320C31PQL40. Found already TMS320C31PQL50 but not sure have same functionality or not.

    You are referring to very old dsp's which is now replaced by C6748. I will move this post over C67xx DSP forum. Refer below link,

    Why do you want to replace the TMS320C31PQL40?

    If it is a new design or upgrade, the C6748 Raja mentioned is a great choice.

    If it is an old design and you are having trouble with buying the -40, then any of the other speed grades should work for you, including the -50. You will have to verify everything in the datasheet to make sure the TMS320C31PQL50 will work, like Vcc, clock waveforms, etc. Only the datasheet is the true place to get the answer to suitability.

    But the real place to start is with the answer to the first question, why?

    Thanks for reply.

    We believe it is damaged because its too old and the Card is not working properly.
    But we don't know how to test it. It was great if we could test it prior to replace.

    Hodjat,

    Why do you need to replace it with a different part number? Are you unable to buy the -40 part number from your distributor?

    You can try any of the higher speed grade parts, if those are available. But for production use you will need to consult the datasheet to be sure the voltages and other specs are compatible.
