C55x Connected Audio Framework for 200 Hz Samples

Hi team,

We are interested in using the C5535 to take 200 Hz samples from two microphones. I have been looking at the C55x Connected Audio Framework. Is is possible to modify the code to be able to do this? Where would I go for that?

Would you mind elaborating a bit on your application? 200Hz?

Are you just looking for a 2 mic input to the C5535, or do you also need to pipe the audio via USB hence the reason for CAF?

Hi Lali,

200 Hz should be sufficient for our application. We need 2 mic input to the C5535 and then we need to pipe the audio via USB.

Hi Akash,

You you need to add another mic HW capability to the board. The only way I can see that is to utilize the I2S1 on header P3. You would need to add something like this device to the header www.ti.com/.../cc3200audboost or something similar.

I have not looked into the schematics of the audboost, but it may work.

I2S2 is used in the CAF example at this time. So you would need to also add hooks for I2S1 in the code for the 2nd mic. Hope this clarifies.

Thanks for the advice on the HW implementation. Do you know how I would go about changing the sample rate (to 200 Hz) in the code?

I don't know what changes specifically would be needed, but you will have to peruse the code and see.

Please see \inc\sample_rate.h which has some sample rate definitions in the source. Hope this helps you moving in the right direction.
