Hi,

I'm facing the ether mac loopback is failed with Shiva BSL on AM3517.

Please find attached file which I captured CCS debug windows.

Using AM3517 BSL for checking ether mac loopback on EVM board was failed with test code as is.

I found one particular code in evmam35xx_emac.c.

while(!CHKBIT_REGL(EMAC＋EMAC_TXINTSTATRAW,TX0PEND))

I tried both run and step execution for the code, getting the different result.

When I tried to run the code, it happened rtn=ERR_ENET_RX_ERROR in EMAC_rx_packet in evmam35xx_emac.c

called from test_rmii_loopback.c.

But when I performed step execution, loopback test was passed.

I changed the code below then loopback test was passed for both run and step execution.

while(IN_REGL(EMAC+EMAC_TXINTSTATRAW)!=TX0PEND)

Questions are:

Why variables are different between run and step execution?

Why changing the code (equivalent code) worked fine? (caused by coding?)

I'm using CCSv4.1 (ARM compiler v4.6.3).

I tested this using CCS v3.3, and everything works fine. I was not able to reproduce the issue you have seen. When I get a chance, I will test this with CCS v4 and see if any issues come up.

Kasuya,

I've tested with CCSv4.1.2 and ARM compiler 4.6.2, and again everything works as expected for me. Perhaps you could try building with that ARM compiler? Also, could you share your target configuration .ccxml file?

Kasuya,

I went through your configuration file and it doesnt seem to be correct. Try using the attached configuration file and let me know if you still have a problem. It works for me.

Could you try with Compiler v4.6.3?

I tried it with compiler version 4.6.3 and it works. Can you tell me in detail how are you checking it? Do you first build the bsl project before building the emac loopback test project? It seems you are missing out on something.

Yes, we are using attached BSL tests.

I tried your BSL tests as well. It's the same and it worked. Attached is the workspace built when your BSL tests were used. Kindly try to build the project available in the attached workspace and it should work. Try removing all the folders including .metadata in your existing workspace or you may create a new workspace, and import existing CCS/CCE Eclipse Project -> evmam35xx_bsl and then -> test_rmii_loopback. You might have to change the path for evmam35xx_bsl.lib file in the file ccstudio_linker.cmd and the path for evm_am3517.gel file in AM3517.ccxml file. Now first build the bsl project, then the test, debug active project ( which should be the test) and then hit run. You should see the attached screenshot. Let me know if that works.

Do the attached xml file in the previuos link work (AM3517.ccxml) ? I have an XDS510 working with CCS 3.3 and I tried the attached .xml file and it didnt work for me.

I made a xml file in the same way that CCS 3.3 had and the attached one works well with AM3517 EVM with CCS 4.0.

Can some one validate which one is correct?

I know that the one attached earlier AM3517.ccxml works fine with CCS v4 and to connect to Shiva using CCSv3.3, kindly have a look at the attached page.

I use CCS V3.3, but it don't work,becase it has some error when compiling all the project in the zip 1016315A_AM35xx_BSL.zip. Please give me your all files.
