VAYU EVM: connect SATA disk

Hello.

I'd like to connect SATA disk to XC5777X board. I see the standard SATA connector on-board but I'd like to know where from the power to the disk could be provided?

Hi David,
Can tell me more about the harddisk you are using, more specifically about the power connector.
It is very unlikely an EVM to have power connector for a harddisk. Many hard disks require strong 5-V and 12-V supplies. If I recall correctly that EVM's power input is only 5 volts.
I think you will need an external power supply (for example from PC or something with lesser size).

You can use SMPS power supply (generally used in PC for connecting SATA HDD), which has SATA power connector, connect SMPS-SATA power cable to SATA Hard disk, standard SATA cable connecting EVM to SATA hard disk.
