External RAM protection on 66AK2G02AZBBA60

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2G02

Hello!

I'm considering to take a 66AK2G02 into new project.

I'm going to use encrypted firmware, which is supposed to be decrypted and placed into external RAM for execution.

I'm affraid, that decrypted firmware can be stolen from my device by some device, connected to JTAG.

What are the methods to disable JTAG on device, or to disable JTAG-readings from some specified RAM area?

  • Hi Vyacheslav,

I've forwarded this query to the design team. Their feedback will be posted here.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
  • The secure version of this device is planned to be announced in the 2Q17 timeframe. The secure 66AK2G02 will have hardware based encryption and signing keys, and will have JTAG disable feature and will boot signeed/encrypted images from flash securely.

For more information regarding this variant, please contact your local TI field/sales representative and we will be able to provide you with more details about the security features and road map.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Rahul
