Trouble importing a project example

Hello,

I'm new to CCS and I'm working with a CC2650 launchpad, I recently downloaded the RTOS example projects.

Whenever I try to import one, i.e PIN Examples, I get this error message: "Error importing project. Device-id "Cortex M.CC2650F128" is not recognized!"

I am using CCS v6.2.0, I couldn't find anyone that had the same issue.

Any help on how I could fix this issue will be appreciated.

Hi Jorge,

What version of TI-RTOS are you using ? Also, when you installed CCS, did you select simplelink devices ? If simplelink device support was not installed then one can have the issue you are seeing.

I'm using TI-RTOS v2.21 , I downloaded all the examples using the "Resource Explorer" from CCS. I believe I selected the simplelink devices since I can view the example code for the CC32XX. Is there a way in which I can check or download support for the devices?

You can go to "Help"->"About Code Composer Studio" and clock on "Installation Details". In the "Installed Software" tab, you will see different packages like "CC32xx Device Support". If a "CC26xx Device Support" exists, you have the right setup.

One other thing, TI-RTOS v2.21 only support CC26xx/CC13xx. If you need CC32xx, you will need to move to an older release. From your first post it looks like you only care about CC26xx so you are good.

You are awesome! That was the problem, I don't have the "CC26xx Device Support", how could I download it?

I fix it by uninstalling CCS and installing it again but this time with cc2650 support. Again thank you so much for the help!

Hi Jorge,

You can try the following steps. If the CC26xx device support does not get installed properly with these steps and you still see the problem then, you should try re-installing CCS and make sure to select CC26xx devices in CCS installer dialog.

Step1: Open "Help"->"Install New Software..."

Step2: Click on "Available Software Sites" and add the following site if it is not added:

Name: CC26xx Device Support Updates

Location: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/smartrf/CCSv6

Step3: Click on drop down next to "Work with:" and select the CC26xx entry we just added. New packages should show up. Unselect "Group items by category" and select "Show only software applicable to target environment"

Step4: Select "CC13xx/CC26xx Device Support" package then click "Next". Follow the prompts.

Step5: Once installed restart CCS.
