Hi everyone,

We are currently using CCS to flash application to AM3359 ICE2 board. But our customer need to flash by themself and need a simpler method to flash. So, after looking up, we found out Uniflash on TI wiki page. But we are not so sure about this way because it does not describe much in which way we could combine our image with u-boot and SPL images. Any help will be appreciated.

In this way, we still have to use CCS to flash.
Are there other ways to flash without using CCS ?

And stuck in "Preparing the Images to be Flashed" with our image and how to configure the NAND offsets session in debrick file.

Unfortunately Uniflash has not been tested with the RTOS SDK bootloader and hasn`t been tested with the AM335x ICE board as far as I can tell. It is a tool that is designed for Linux boot environment for the fully featured EVM.

the utility pulls an image from USB or ethernet and loads the MLO at the base of the flash and the u-boot at a specific offset as hard coded by the SPL-uboot flow. the portion that loads the MLO to the base of the flash is also required in the RTOS based SDK however the offset at with the app resides and u-boot resides may be different. You can check if this is a configurable to the debrick script. The other complexity may be that the flash part used on the EVM and the ICE board may be different so this may not be a simple port to the ICE board. Let me discuss this a internally and see wht I can find can be done on the ICE board.

Just for clarity. We currently need to flash our application to AM3359 ICE2 in production. But flashing using CCS is a painful way for us if we have hundreds or even thousand boards. Is there anyway better for us ?

Unfortunately the current version of the SDK doesn`t provide an easy alternative to flash the board using Ethernet or USB boot. you could create a application that reads a binary file and writes it to the flash and then create a SD boot image to write the image flash memory.

I have forwarded the request to support the Uniflash tool in production environment with RTOS SDK to our tools development team and this possibility is being discussed internally. I will update this thread when I have more information.

It seems that using SD boot is not efficient for us. Can you suggest which related boards that we can do with. If has, we will plan to change to use those.

Uniflash will work on the Beaglebone Black and AM335x GP EVM.
