DM368 is burned out?

Hi expert:

I have a DM368 desigen for EVM. When fistly power on, as the +1.35 power module is damaged which was up to +5V,immediately the IC dm368 was very hot.

Then the dm368 cannot  be used. There has no reply from dm368 by JTAG.

       Is DM368  burned out?

And what can I do to let it work?

  • Liang,

What do you mean when you say you have a "DM368 design for an EVM"?  Do you mean you built your own custom board with a DM368 on it?  Then you are saying you incorrectly powered the 1.35V rail with 5V and now the device is no longer working correctly?  Yes, it is possible that you damaged the part.  If it is damaged, there is nothing you can do to fix this.

  • Yes!

    You got it!

" If it is damaged, there is nothing you can do to fix this."----Oh, my god!

    No!!!

  • Liang Lin,

The absoute maximum ratings for the 1.2/1.35V supplies is '-0.3 to 1.6V' as stated in section 5.1 of the datasheet, it also states the following

"Stresses beyond those listed under "absolute maximum ratings" may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings

only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under "recommended operating

conditions" is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability."

    regards,

    miguel
