VC5505 Evaluation Module/Kit replacement

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5505, TMS320C5505, TMS320C5515, TMS320C5504

I have just bought Digital Stethoscope Analog Front End Module for the C5505 DS Medical Development Kit (DSP15345U) Part number: TMDXMDKDS3254.

The manual says that I need to buy VC5505 Evaluation Module/Kit.

http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tms320vc5505.html says that it is no longer recommended and recommends "TMS320C5505 The device has the SAME FUNCTIONALITY as the compared device, but is not pin-for-pin equivalent and may not be parametrically equivalent. "

http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tms320c5505.html shows that it has evaluation module: TMS320C5515 DSP Evaluation ModuleTMDXEVM5515. Notice that it is for C5515 (not C5505).

Does it mean I need to buy the TMS320C5515 DSP Evaluation ModuleTMDXEVM5515 ?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance for your help

  • Thanks a lot for your help Steve.

Is there any document/link that outlines the differences between VC5505 Evaluation Module and TMS320C5515 DSP Evaluation Module?

Do I need to set certain jumpers to make Digital Stethoscope Analog Front End Module for the C5505 DS Medical Development Kit (DSP15345U) Part number: TMDXMDKDS3254 work with TMS320C5515 DSP Evaluation Module? Are they pin compatible? Or does it just work?

    I am new with this.

    Thanks again for your help.
