DirectFB on OMAP3530

HI,

does anyone know if DirectFB is supported by the driver/hardwre on the OMAP 3530?

Yes, Dfb can run on OMAP35x. It has configure option - "--with-gfxdrivers=omap", but Dfb runs even without this option.

Amit,

DirectFB will run on the Cortex-A8, but Qt and X11 better utilize the SGX and NEON for acceleration.

Hi Clay,

do you mean that DirectFB does not utilize the NEON and the SGX at all, even with the above mentioned compilation flags "--with-gfxdrivers=omap"

or that it utilize it but with lower effiecency than QT?

Amit,

DirectFB is currently not accelerated by the SGX or NEON. Qt and X11 do use NEON and we will have similar support for DirectFB someday, but that is not available yet.
